A Taste of Fukuoka in Hawaii

A couple of years ago, I had an incredible trip to Fukuoka with 10 Hawaii chefs. We learned so much about the food and culture there, and it was an experience we will never forget.

We were all reunited at a Taste of Fukuoka cultural event, where local chefs and KCC culinary students prepared courses that united ingredients directly from Fukuoka and Hawaii into unique dishes. Of course, the flavors were stunning!

Mahalo to Roy Yamaguchi, Masa Gushiken, and Wade and Michelle Ueoka as well as the KCC culinary team for creating such amazing dishes. And mahalo to mixologist Alicia Yamachika for creating unique fusion cocktails! Most of all, mahalo to the Fukuoka prefectural government for providing such a wonderful cultural exchange.
