Oasis is the new kid on the block at Waikiki Beach Walk, but don’t let that fool you: owner Rose Wong is no beginner to the bespoke jewelry game. Oasis is Wong’s second jewelry shop in Waikiki–the first being Kolohe which is located in the ‘Alohilani Resort. Born and raised in Hawaii, Wong donates a portion of the company’s proceeds towards scholarships and grants for entrepreneurship and art students. With this, she hopes to inspire others to start businesses in Hawaii.
As Kolohe’s sister shop, Oasis focuses on amplifying casual luxury jewelry. All pieces are handmade using sustainable practices and quality sourcing. The store has some pre-made pieces to purchase, but everything can be customized to make it even more unique and tailored to the wearer. Customers have the chance to create their own, unique story at Oasis.
Wong allowed me to watch some of what often happens behind the scenes: the jewelry making itself. Having never seen jewelry being made, I didn’t know what to expect. The amount of precision, care, and love that goes into making each piece is immeasurable. The girls at Oasis know what they’re doing and they love doing it! I’ll let these photos speak for themselves.
It’s clear that the team behind Oasis is dedicated to creating beautiful pieces. They are constantly experimenting with new things: combining the latest trends with timeless silhouettes and really getting to know each customer so that they can make the best piece for them. After seeing what goes on behind the scenes, I can’t wait to get a customized piece of my own.
