NEWS: Fa La La in Love with Supporting Local at Keep it Kaimuki Saturday

Jingle all the way to Kaimuki and enjoy discounts from participating businesses and a special Christmas Tree lighting during the free, family-friendly event

HONOLULU (November 18, 2021) – ‘Tis the season…to shop local! On Saturday, November 27, Keep it Kaimuki Saturday returns for its fifth year offering shoppers exclusive discounts and promotions at 38 participating Kaimuki businesses. From 20 percent off the entire store at Awa +’Olena and The Public Pet, to holiday exclusive pints at Via Gelato, shoppers can support local while crossing all the names off their holiday gift list. “Yule” love the exciting festivities happening during Keep it Kaimuki Saturday including the highly anticipated Christmas tree lighting at Pu’u O Kaimuki Mini Park. The tree lighting will take place on November 27, 2021 from 5:30-6:30p.m., marking the start of the holiday season. This year, shoppers can virtually enjoy live music and the tree lighting ceremony via Instagram LIVE, by following @keepitkaimuki

“The pandemic has been extremely tough on many of our local businesses and we encourage the community to shop and dine at local businesses that support our families and local economy,” said Jordan Lee, co-owner of The Public Pet and founder of Keep it Kaimuki. “We are excited to have our signature event, Keep it Kaimuki Saturday, return in-person. It’s important, now more than ever, to support our Kaimuki ohana.”

Keep it Kaimuki Saturday is a free, family-friendly community event in Kaimuki’s business district held annually on Small Business Saturday. In addition to in-store offers at participating businesses, Keep it Kaimuki Saturday is the focus all month long on the group’s social media channels—offering followers a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite neighborhood shops and restaurants. 

To help promote its Small Business Saturday event, Keep it Kaimuki will release new seasonal merchandise. These will be available to order on www.keepitkaimuki.com, along with the classic lineup of tees, totes, and face masks bearing the iconic Keep it Kaimuki design.

Some of the highlights of Keep it Kaimuki Saturday 2021 include 60 percent off MLC jewelry at Atelier 1223 at Montsuki, special dishes at Angelo Pietro, 10 percent off purchases over $20 at Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery and much more.
