2017 Diner en Blanc Honolulu
Each year, since Honolulu became part of the Diner en Blanc international movement, the locations have had its definite highlights... Iolani Palace - historic backdrop, exclusive, and fun even with the moments of rain; Ko'olina - THE best sunset ever, picturesque ocean scene; Hawaii Convention Center - urban flavor with a pink and purple sky, and cityscape.
Now to 2017, my ‘girls night out date’ Kat, and I were excited to learn that it was at Kualoa Ranch – the view of the mountain range in Ka’aawa Valley was nothing less than epic. The weather was perfect and although there was a massive amount of space for the more than 1600 attendees, the organizers still found a way to keep it connected and intimate.
From the very first moments of set up, to the pair of horses provided by Kualoa Ranch and the blessing, it got off to a smooth start. The drinks were flowing courtesy of Tattinger, and attendees’ own libations, so more luas would have been nice.
Entertainment included the Keao Fernandez trio, The Good Foot band as headliner, special guest appearance from Tenelle, and the amazing Super CW with Delve spinning with with contagious positive energy.
