What’s your favorite Netflix show?

My family loves Netflix! My favorite shows to watch, turns out, are totally different from what I like to see on network television.

When I look at traditional TV, I like comedies like Big Bang Theory. My on-demand tastes, I have learned over the last couple years, run towards macabre and morbid. I especially like 19th century British supernatural crime!

My top picks are Penny Dreadful, Ripper Street, Sherlock, Peaky Blinders, Stranger Things, and Supernatural. Right now, I’m on a 1980s Mafia movie streak: Goodfellas, The Godfather series, Casino.

I do not “Netflix and chill.” I “Netflix and freak out.”

Oh, my exception is that once in a while I like Queer Eye.

My husband looks at his own iPad at night, because he likes documentaries, dramas, and comedies. We are so spoiled.

If we’re doing family time, then Olivia picks a baking show, a travel show, or a predictably cute movie like Benji or Beauty and the Beast.

What are your favorites, and how does it compare to the rest of the state? Or the nation?

The team at HighSpeedInternet.com pored through Google Trends data to generate its second annual report on the most popular Netflix show in each state. This latest report reveals a little about each state based on its binge-watching habits and dives into comparisons regarding how some states are watching vastly different or similar shows from last year.

A few highlights:
-The most popular show in the US is Orange is the New Black. Last year’s favorite was Scandal.
-Most states started watching a new show this year. The only state that stayed loyal to its 2017 show was Arizona.
-The only shows that remained popular from 2016 to 2017 were Fuller House, Narcos, Orange is the New Black, and Stranger Things.
-Most states had unique tastes. 14 states had favorite shows that no other state had, and 10 more shared their favorite with just one other state.

I guess I should give Orange is the New Black a try since everyone else is saying it’s so great!

Peace of mind By Diane Ako I like to reflect on life. Sometimes it’s philosophically. Sometimes it’s humorously. For all its beauty, life is far too difficult a journey to take alone. You need the support and connection with others to help carry you along the way. Writing brings me that connection– within and without. It clarifies my thoughts and feelings. It helps me reach out to others for advice, wisdom, or feedback. Your thoughts become your actions. Your actions become you. A wise yogi- Patanjali- said, “Speak what is true.
