New comedy album featuring local social media star Pashyn

Jason Lent of AMBLVD Records and social media sensation Pashyn Noheamakanaonalani Santos (aka Pashyn) of “Local Maddahs” and “Pidgin Siri” fame, announce their partnership and creation of a new comedy album showcasing Pashyn’s unique brand of humor with a Hawaiian twist. Recording sessions are now in progress with the album on target for a September 2017 back-to-school delivery that will be available both in stores and on all streaming services.

Pashyn is the second artist signed to the AMBLVD Records label and the first comedian. Says Lent, “We were introduced by a mutual friend and later, bonded over pancakes, as well as our many like-minded traits. He continued, “As far as I know, this is the first time that a female comic of Pashyn’s caliber is being showcased and our goal is to produce a high quality product reminiscent of “Poi Dog” by the legendary comic, Rap Replinger. Adds Pashyn, “I’ve participated in several projects with Jason’s advertising company, Lent Enterprises Digital, and really admire their approach to the creative process.” She continued, “As an artist, I feel it is important to align yourself with a company that ‘gets you’ and I am so excited to be working with them!”

This isn’t Lent’s first endeavor into comedy. Many years ago when MySpace (one of the first social media networking websites) first surfaced, he and childhood friend Bruno Mars, wrote a parody called “MySpace With You” (sung to the tune of “Freak Me” by Silk). He adds, “It was so popular and we received a lot of great feedback from it, and believe it or not, you can still find the clip on YouTube.” Lent recently produced the successful “Pele Awards, The Musical,” a musical comedy program for the American Advertising Awards (District 13/Hawaii) Pele Awards- a first for the American Advertising Federation.

The new album will feature Pashyn’s distinctive brand of funny that has been positively received by Hawai`i audiences and beyond, and will include a mixture of parodies and sketches by some of her most beloved characters. She adds, “I feel this album will be a breath of fresh air and provide an escape to the negativity that is happening in the world right now. My goal is to lighten up the day and make people laugh with good old fashion, thigh-slapping, tear jerking comedy, all delivered with heartfelt aloha.”

Peace of mind By Diane Ako I like to reflect on life. Sometimes it’s philosophically. Sometimes it’s humorously. For all its beauty, life is far too difficult a journey to take alone. You need the support and connection with others to help carry you along the way. Writing brings me that connection– within and without. It clarifies my thoughts and feelings. It helps me reach out to others for advice, wisdom, or feedback. Your thoughts become your actions. Your actions become you. A wise yogi- Patanjali- said, “Speak what is true.
