Homecoming
After 37 months and 45,000 nautical miles, the Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia came back to home port in Honolulu today to a welcome from thousands of Hawaii residents.
All of us who attended knew we were witnessing a piece of history.

I paddled for 2 hours along side the Hokulea on my 1 man canoe way outside of the Pink Palace in Waikiki with all the other voyaging canoes. That was the staging area before they made there way to Magic Island.
