Drive-in Movies

I recently attended a drive-in movie organized by My Kailua and Krave Marketing. The movie was Lion King and it was shown on a big outdoor screen with large speakers at the United Methodist Church parking lot in Kailua. This brought back a lot of memories from my childhood days as this was a popular family outing for us on the weekends. Fast forward some 30 plus years where the drive-in movie concept was no longer popular or needed because of indoor movie theaters which resulted in all of them closing. Well that recently changed due to COVID 19 and all of the social distancing guidelines. What once was old has become new again to the younger generation and it was touching to see the bridging of the gap.
