Destiny Forever crystal store opens permanently in Kaka`ako

Destiny Forever, the crystal bracelet company founded and run by retired MMA champ Enson Inoue, is destined for a new location in Kaka`ako. It’s the first brick-and-mortar storefront for Inoue, who previously had rented space for quarterly pop-ups.

Inoue handcrafts crystal bracelets using gems he sources himself globally on buying trips. Believers say the energy of different gems provides them support in what they need; for example, health, love, luck, protection, and peace.

The store, at 1019 Waimanu Street, opens November 28. It will be open full time until December 16, when Inoue, a former Manoa native, returns home to Japan.

Inoue says Destiny Forever’s winter hours are structured as such:

November 28 to December 4 – restrings only
December 5 to December 16 – custom orders (new bracelets)
Hours are 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily during these dates

Inoue lives in Japan and has historically returned to Oahu about four times a year to sell his wares. He is hoping to keep the store open year-round with the help of Honolulu-based staff, but hasn’t worked out that schedule yet.

Office manager SJ McCann says they’re excited to offer customers a selection of new stones this winter, such as “high-grade Super Seven, Titan Rutile, Lybian Desert Glass, Black Opal, Tektike, Pietersite, and many more.” He also has a fresh selection of other decorative gems and crystal trees.

Peace of mind By Diane Ako I like to reflect on life. Sometimes it’s philosophically. Sometimes it’s humorously. For all its beauty, life is far too difficult a journey to take alone. You need the support and connection with others to help carry you along the way. Writing brings me that connection– within and without. It clarifies my thoughts and feelings. It helps me reach out to others for advice, wisdom, or feedback. Your thoughts become your actions. Your actions become you. A wise yogi- Patanjali- said, “Speak what is true. Speak what is pleasant.” Let’s speak of things pleasant to one another and seek some peace of mind along the way. ABOUT Diane Ako joined Hawaii: In Real Life in October 2016.
