Ask Melissa808: Where to get good tempura?

Justine Kadokawa Lee was craving good tempura, so she asked if I knew of anyplace.

To be honest, there are few, if any, places in Hawaii that serve light, crunchy tempura. Many okazuyas serve soggy tempura; most places we’ve tried are heavy and greasy. I liked Ichidai, but they closed; another one that I’d previously blogged about seems to be under new ownership that is cutting corners. So here’s my recommendation.

I’m open to suggestions if you know of anywhere else.
