Thankful Cooking
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we have so much to be thankful. We talked about how thankful people are happier people. Nothing is too small to be thankful for.
We are thankful for:
-my family that supports me
-a school that helps me learn
-my teacher that helps me to thrive!
-water because some people’s water are dirty
-my dog because she protects me
-my grandma for getting me Pokemon cards
-my cats for giving me company
-the ocean for healing me from sickness and stress
-my family for giving me love
-Chef Ed Kenney for cooking with us
He came to school and taught us how to cook!
He taught us how to make sausages from scratch! He brought sample ingredients and talked about Farm to Table.
He brought cool machines like the meat grinder. We took turns grinding the meat.
Then, he showed us how to pack the ground meat into the casing. It was kind of gross. We didn’t know that the sausage casing was from the pig intestines.
The finished product was yummy! Thank you Chef Kenney for taking time out of your busy schedule to teach us how to cook! See you at Town, Mud Hen Water, and Kaimuki Superette! We hope to see you again next year for another cooking adventure.
