Cannibis museum opens in Las Vegas

Cannabition, the immersive cannabis museum at Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas, celebrates with a grand opening on September 20. It bills itself as Las Vegas’ first and only immersive cannabis museum and the world’s only cannabis-themed experience of its kind to date.

Cannabition will feature elaborate cannabis-inspired installations created by leading experiential exhibit and event designers. Following the path the cannabis plant takes “from seed to high,” visitors will journey through more than a dozen vignettes.

Along the way, visitors will interact with numerous multisensory exhibits, including reclining on a cannabis seed “bed” while listening to sexy ‘70s music; hugging 7-foot-tall buds; being “exhaled” as they slide through an oversized pair of lips blowing smoke rings into a pool of handmade, foam Leafly “nugs”; learning about terpenes, the chemical components of cannabis, through a stimulating olfactory installation from The Clear Concentrates; and swinging from a Pax tree.

Museum-goers can also pose beside Hunter S. Thompson’s iconic “Red Shark” Chevrolet Caprice and pose with, at 24-feet-tall, the world’s largest bong affectionately known as “Bongzilla.” Each of Cannabition’s exhibits will offer opportunities to explore the historic, botanical, wellness and lifestyle aspects of cannabis.

In true Vegas-style, the ceremony will start with City of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman, Cannabition founder JJ Walker,  and Neonopolis owner Rohit Joshi burning through a hemp rope with a blowtorch.

Peace of mind By Diane Ako I like to reflect on life. Sometimes it’s philosophically. Sometimes it’s humorously. For all its beauty, life is far too difficult a journey to take alone. You need the support and connection with others to help carry you along the way. Writing brings me that connection– within and without. It clarifies my thoughts and feelings. It helps me reach out to others for advice, wisdom, or feedback. Your thoughts become your actions. Your actions become you. A wise yogi- Patanjali- said, “Speak what is true. Speak what is pleasant.” Let’s speak of things pleasant to one another and seek some peace of mind along the way. ABOUT Diane Ako joined Hawaii: In Real Life in October 2016.
